Birth MattersTM: Christian, natural, truthful
After watching well-prepared couples struggle with less than satisfying birth experiences, Christelle designed the Proactive Pregnancy MattersTM Home Study Course and the Birth MattersTM Home Study Course to emphasize the most important choices couples can make to greatly improve their chances for normal, natural childbirths.  The Birth MattersTM Method childbirth class series is more than just another "preparing for childbirth" class series.  This course (especially if taken following the Proactive Pregnancy MattersTM course) will give you a set of "commandments" to follow that maximize your chances for a healthy pregnancy, healthy baby, and a birth that is as normal, efficient, and as comfortable as possible.  Birth matters: learn what you need to know to make your Birth Day a day you will treasure.  Find out what we believe about the needs and rights of laboring moms in our Philosophies of Care.

The Birth MattersTM Method:
a Christian natural childbirth home study course

Coming soon, the Birth MattersTM Method is an evidence-based natural childbirth course that you take in the comfort of your own home, that gives you the "Ten Commandments of Pregnancy, Birth & Breastfeeding."  Following this set of ten rules offers you the best chances for a normal, healthy pregnancy, baby and birth.

What is the Birth MattersTM Method?

The Birth MattersTM Method:
  • Prepares you for what occurs during a normal, natural childbirth, as well as common variations of normal childbirth
  • Teaches you hands-on comfort measures and relaxation techniques to help you avoid unnecessary pain
  • Builds your confidence in your ability to birth normally and naturally
  • Is not afraid to tell the truth.  For example, we support the Midwifery Model of Care because moms who have midwives as their health care providers have equal or better birth outcomes compared to moms with other types of maternal health care providers.
  • Offers discussions of birth and parenting issues from a Christian perspective
  •

We recommend that you start the series earlier in your pregnancy than most childbirth classes.  This "early start" gives you more time to absorb the information, research your options and make any changes you believe are necessary to help you reach your pregnancy and birthing goals.  In order to reap the full benefits of the Birth MattersTM Method, it is recommended that you start the course in your fourth or fifth month of pregnancy.  This gives you about a month to complete each lesson at a leisurely pace.  (While an early start is ideal, late starters are also welcome to take the course!)
