The Fertility Matters Method Basic Chart Booklet

This chart booklet, intended for women with cycle lengths up to 36 days, contains 13 full-color fertility charts for recording basal body temperature, cervical fluid, other signs of fertility and more. A Cooperative Method of Natural Birth Control

Dyna-Band

Recommended in Maternal Fitness, this natural latex rubber band can be used for both pregnancy and postpartum workouts. Tupler says on pages 46-47 of Maternal Fitness, "Do supply yourself with two pieces of equipment...an exercise mat... [and] a Dyna-Band. Doing body moves against the resistance of this giant rubber band really works those muscles." This is a heavy resistance band, so use with care if you are a beginner. This classic book, written by a former La Leche League leader, explains how breastfeeding, when frequent and unrestricted, normally provides a mother on average with 14 1/2 months of complete natural infertility--no periods or ovulations. This book goes beyond "birth control" to explain how, when a mother goes the extra mile in meeting her baby's emotional and physical needs, she will normally not become pregnant again for over a year. While some mothers may follow all the recommendations in this book and still have an early return of her periods, this is unusual. As a fertility educator, I have observed that these early cycles typically show signs of less than normal fertility in other ways. The overall message is that by meeting baby's needs, baby usually ensures that his mother can focus just on him for a time, something that is normally a very fulfilling and joyfilled experience for both of them.
