Natural Parenting Matters
Are you up for the adventure of a lifetime? Natural Parenting is Parenting with Joy, plain and simple. Natural Parenting Matters (Breastfeeding MattersTM Home Study Course, Lesson 3)
The seventh "natural law" of breastfeeding is gradual weaning. Gradual weaning is a normal part of attachment parenting, also called Natural Parenting. Natural Parenting will be different for every family, but most families who follow this philosophy of parenting share similar practices:
...bonding at birth
...breastfeeding, with gradual weaning
...baby"wearing" (carrying baby a lot, in backpacks or slings or other carriers)
...sharing sleep with baby
...responsiveness to baby
The Natural Parenting Matters class will give an overview on how to practically accomplish all of the above, so that you can discuss as a couple how this might work in your unique family. It also covers research which shows that this style of parenting is the healthiest choice for most babies.
Finally, there is a discussion of the impact of attachment parenting on your marriage and family. This class ends with a discussion of how Natural Parenting can help you build a strong and joyful family, how to avoid pitfalls of Natural Parenting, and help baby "fit" into the family. The class includes Christian perspectives on parenting and many of the topics listed above, featuring the book Christian Parenting and Child Care by Sears and Sears.
The Natural Parenting Matters course can be taken before or after your baby is born.
