Want to learn more about how to have a great pregnancy? This 3 session home study course explains why a "Proactive Pregnancy" normally has the best outcomes for mom and baby. Proactive Pregnancy means informing yourself so that mother and baby are cared for in ways that respect the normal process of growing a baby, avoiding unnecessary tests and interventions. You will understand better how the best health practices and prenatal care of the mother maximize the chances for a healthy baby and a normal, efficient and as comfortable a birth as possible. This course emphasizes the key role that you as expectant parents have in parenting your baby before birth by taking good care of yourselves and making informed choices. Great Expectations Pregnancy Class (Proactive Pregnancy MattersTM, Lesson 1)
For couples in the first trimester of pregnancy, the Great Expectations Pregnancy class will help you increase your chances for a healthy baby and a normal pregnancy. You'll learn the Ten Commandments for a Great Pregnancy & Birth. In addition you will:
- have a good grasp of what to expect for the rest of your pregnancy
- get a glimpse of what your baby is doing in there
- learn ways to bond with your baby while he or she is still in the womb
- discuss unexpected outcomes & get referrals to sources of support should they occur
- get important information to help you make pregnancy and baby care decisions
- learn ways to grow in your relationships with each other & God during your pregnancy
About this class
Instructor: Christelle J. K. Hagen, CCE Christelle is a certified childbirth educator with Apple Tree Family Ministries ("Childbirth Without Fear", the Grantly Dick-Read Method). Christelle has been involved with childbirth education classes since 1999. After helping with classes for ten years (and teaching for eight of those years) Christelle decided to put together a new course that would give couples more of the facts that they need to know to achieve the natural pregnancies and intervention-free childbirths they desire.
